Coaster is about a person willing to do anything for another person that they love no matter what it is or what it takes. You know you and that person weren’t meant to be and that they aren’t good for you but you lov e them so much that you’re willing to even hurt yourself mentally just to be with that person. You want that person to like you so badly and wish it could have turned out better, you did so much for them and felt like you were doing all of the work in the relationship/friendship.

Devils don't fly! So don't expect me not to fall' I think that this part means that someone is trying to discourage another person about what they are doing, but then they respond by saying 'So you sh ouldn't expect me not to fail'Devils don't fly! But God we almost had it all!' This means that they almost did it, but then failed at the end.' But I got chains, and you got wings'It means that just because that other person (op for short) has something better than the person trying doesn't mean that they can't do something.' You know that life ain't fair sometimes'This means that not everything in the world is going to be perfect, and that, life really isn't always fair.' Devils don't fly!
But I try'This part means that even though the mp (main person) is being discouraged by the op, they still try to achieve their goal.Whoo! That took a while to write! This song is referencing the time when Jesus was born, King Herod was King of Judea, where Mary and Joseph were staying the first couple years of Jesus' life in the town of Bethlehem. Unfortunately, King Herod heard the 'King of the Jews' had been born, this was told to him by astrologers (the Wise Men and others) and because he was so afraid of losing his throne, he decreed that all baby boys born that year to the Jews be killed.
Although Jesus escaped death by his parents taking him out of Judea (and back to Nazereth, where he would grow up), thousands of babies did not survive this mass murder. This song is a remembrence to all those children.
This song is about a girl who wanted to life forever. She gives her 'treasure' to a boy for immortality. Now she is 90 and realizes what a curse it is to look 19 when she is 90. She never fully got to live, because she h ad to act like a teenager forever. And because she is immortal that means she will forever look 19.
Because of her choice years ago, she never will get to fully experience life, like turning 20, 30, and 40. She is finally notices what she missed. She is now just wanting to die. Shes getting tired of living, and just wishes she could die. But because of her curse she can't. This song is pretty much saying careful what you wish for.
Like all of Alec's songs it has a meaning. This is why I love Alec's songs. I know that in the song that she cheated on him, is if you read the book or know of “The Scarlet Letter”, which he kept referencing in the song, is the main character Hester, she cheated on her husband with another m an that lived in the same colony as her (despite her believing her husband was long dead), and as punishment for cheating and infidelity back then in the 1600s, you were to wear a red-colored or scarlet letter “A” pinned to the front of your clothing everyday for the rest of your life so people will know of the sin you committed. So it was obvious when he referenced and said: “Go on and wear that scarlet letter”, that she cheated on him and was enraged and deeply hurt, and I believe in the middle of the song, I think it kinda implies that he walked in on the them “doing it” a little before and right up to where he said “lover turned enemy”.
I've taken Gojiras somewhat fiction songwriting in to mind trying to understand this song. Maybe it is something about the Anunnaki?
As it's told by the ancients that The Anunnaki (Seven judges of hell, those enslavi ng mankind, that comes from Planet X Aka Nibiru). Maybe something about how they are going to judge us and raise their torches to immolate the earth and enslave the living (The wolves are now your lords, Voracious flames upon the earth) as said in the lore. Combined with a reflection of what our current and past sins is and have been. Can't wrap my head around the whole 'you' point of view in the lyrics tho. (if it was 'they', it would be much clearer to me haha).
If they were talking about what i've mentioned above. God i love Gojira, so much that it can get overwhelming trying to understand the context. Of their lyrics ^^ Read more →.
After a milestone of success, it is typical for a feeling of peer pressure to deliver more, for example if you got A's on a report card or you make incredible sales, an extreme case is that those around you expect y ou to get straight A's and increase your sales to make the new peak the new standard even if it is impractical or damaging.Fell into this myself when making art and projects in architecture classes, I'd make bigger and more challenging things until it all came collapsing down on me in that I failed to reach the impossible expectations of goals blown out of proportion. In the song, the Neotheater is their new and latest peak to surpass their latest album and shows, there is that suspense in wondering if this is the straw that breaks the camel's back or the beginning of a new standard that might destroy them later.
I can't possibly be sure without an interview or something confirming it, but I have to assume the title is a reference to Alan Moore's graphic novel, Watchmen. Wherein the character of Doctor Manhattan is the son of a watchmaker and the imagery of clockwork is woven throughout his part of the story, and makes allusions to the theological analogy of the watchmaker in regards to intelligent design of the universe. Doctor Manhattan retreats to the planet Mars to be away from humanity, despite his nigh-unlimited power, he prefers to be in a barren environment that he can control instead of the chaotic world of human society. He builds a great, clockwork castle on the Red Planet, he tries to bring his lover, Silk Specter, to the castle with him to keep her as part of his perfect, controlled world. The song doesn't seem to make any other references specifically to the character, but it does seem to express a similar desire to move out somewhere remote with his lover and live quietly in a place where the narrator can control his environment. This song just always made me uncomfortable talking about heads falling off, not wanting your throat to be exposed for fear of something and the cheerful tone while explaining what is very clearly blood seeping into the snow as red as a strawberry in the summertime, combined with the happy go lucky melody it gives me chills however I think this song has a lot of little hints of the french revolution to it, I think the song being about the french revolution is something worth looking into. I think this songs represents the process of grewing up. Every people have a way and unique experiences of how they are becoming adults and older.
Some days of dont have sure of what youre gonna do about your life or hav e difficuties in fall asleep so you remember about you past and reminescence. Life can be rough sometimes and when we are in bad times we can get depressive and think about suicide but there is always someone who you can trust and can advice that isnt the better way. Life can be gray but if you hold it and go ahead it can turbs into colourful, like in the videoclip.
This song speaks to the fragility of lovers lost in time. In a thousand year twist on Romeo and Juliet, Perri, or ‘Juliet’ for argument’s sake, has died, passed on in time, literally killed herself day after day wa iting to be with Romeo again in another life. No single lifetime lasts a thousand years and this is meant to allow the listener knowledge of life beyond - and what is most comforting from this message is that beyond life there is still love, and love worth waiting for.If there is one thing to learn from this song it is to make this life count, find love, embrace that love, and take it into your next life -because if you can’t, you’ll spend a thousand years moving forward just to go back. To me this song is about you giving a it your all when it comes to a special someone who you have a strong love with in your heart.
You give it your all, and you fee it strongly but you don’t quite know if that person feels the same. You can feel it and clearly see it in heir eyes, but you only feel like you’re giving it your all and they aren’t. In the song many times it pleads for the other to touch and kiss them so you will also know that they feel as strongly as you do. Fits my situation to a tee right now actually; and it was clear to me the first time I heard it on xm the other day. Hope this helps.
